Ni hao! I’ve been sick and out of it for the last few days with the flu. Amazingly I am up early this morning therefore I decided to make this post. I’ve always been fascinated with the Asian arts and culture, and it seems designer’s have finally picked up on the little jewel because they’ve decided to go worldwide with their own Asian inspired garments in last seasons spring/summer 2013 shows. Influence in looks varied from Prada’s very literal take on the east, to Dries Van Noten’s subtle references of the land of the raising sun. The kimono however served as the starting point for many designer collections as we saw chic and fresh nuances from Emilio Pucci, Etro, and Hermes. One thing is clear there will be many fashionistas who will have their own take on the east come next season.
